Grupo Calvo integrates its industrial operations in Spain

Grupo Calvo integra sus operaciones industriales en España

International food group Calvo announced today the integration of the production operations of its Conservera de Esteiro S.A.U. and Calvo Conservas S.L.U. companies into the latter’s plant located in Carballo, site of the company’s main production centre in Spain.

The integration entails the discontinuance of Esteiro factory activity. As of late, the facility was dedicated solely to fish cleaning operations and plant capacity and competitiveness had diminished in recent years. Grupo Calvo is committed to maintaining the jobs of the entire workforce and will offer current Esteiro plant personnel, totalling around 100 employees, the option to continue their work at the Carballo plant, in addition to providing relocation allowances and support.

The Carballo plant will thereby become the Group’s main operations centre in Europe and an industry benchmark for efficiency, technological innovation, competitiveness and sustainability. To this end, the company is carrying out an ambitious industrial transformation plan to be executed over the next four years.

This operation helps Grupo Calvo to continue moving forward in the development of its plan for operational excellence and continuous improvement in all business-related aspects with the aim of ensuring sustainable and profitable growth as a global food company.
