This award underscores the value of Grupo Calvo’s Responsible Engagement, an ambitious program with which the company has undertaken 17 sustainability goals to transform its business by 2025.
Food company Grupo Calvo has been recognized with the InnovaCción Award in the Sustainability category. These awards are promoted by Promarca, the association that encompasses most of the manufacturers of leading brands of food, beverages and personal care and drugstore products in Spain, with the support of MINCOTUR, MAPA and OEPM, as well as other prestigious entities such as FIAB , ANGED, ACES, ANDEMA, ESADE Creápolis, IESE Business School and Kantar.
This award acknowledges the value of the project and the Responsible Engagement seal, born out of an ambitious program through which the company has undertaken 17 sustainability objectives for transforming its business by 2025 and creating value for the environment, oceans and people through accountability-based company management.
“At Grupo Calvo we feel fully identified with both innovation and sustainability as levers for value creation and responsible management. This recognition has great meaning for us, because it comes from Promarca and everything the entity represents, and because it comes precisely at the time when we are celebrating our 80th anniversary”, stated Mariví Sánchez Jiménez, director of Sustainability and Communication for Grupo Calvo.
The prize was awarded today as part of the 3rd implementation of the “InnovaCción Awards” aimed at recognizing the innovation of consumer brands and their contribution to market development, competitiveness and employment.
80 years of ethical and responsible management
The InnovaCción Award in the Sustainability category joins another award recently received by the company, the Award for Best Track Record in CSR at the 2020 CSR Awards promoted by Multinationals for the Spain Brand, thereby recognizing the ethical and responsible management of the business throughout its history. The company was one of the first in the fisheries sector to pursue the professionalization of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Grupo Calvo’s sustainability policy is today part of an ambitious program by which the company has undertaken 17 sustainability commitments to transform its business by 2025. The goal is to create value for business, society and the planet through accountability-based business management.
The 17 objectives address three areas of action: oceans, the environment and people. With a 2025 compliance horizon, they determine the Group’s guidelines when it comes to managing the business in a responsible manner, while increasing efficiency and minimizing the negative impacts associated with company activity.
