  • The “Innovation Radar 2021” report, prepared by Kantar, ranks Vuelca Fácil® as the year’s most innovative and successful product launch in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
  • Grupo Calvo is also the recipient of the Innovation prize for Vuelca Fácil® in the first implementation of these awards conducted by Kantar.

Carballo, June 15, 2022.- Grupo Calvo’s Vuelca Fácil® packaging has been named the most innovative product of 2021 by the “Innovation Radar 2021” study. This report includes last year’s outstanding successful innovations within Spain’s FMCG sector.

According to the report prepared by Kantar, a global expert in consumer behavior, an innovation’s success depends largely on its degree of novelty, the extent to which it meets previously unaddressed relevant needs and how it adapts to new times and uses. Such is the case of Vuelca Fácil® in introducing a new way to package canned products more efficiently and sustainably. The new packaging has given rise to new ways to serve and enjoy tuna in line with today’s consumer demands.

Innovation Radar

The Innovation Radar report is the most important study carried out in Spain on the state of innovation in the FMCG sector. Conducted by Kantar Worldpanel, the report monitors and analyzes more than 1,000 innovations launched in the Spanish FMCG market (food, beverages, personal care and household goods). It also measures market penetration and the innovation repetition rate in relation to the average in its category.

Recognition of innovation

Vuelca Fácil® was also awarded the Kantar innovation prize as part of the presentation of the Brand Footprint ranking. This is the first year that the consulting firm has awarded these prizes to brands with top performance in the realm of innovation.

Kantar’s innovation award for Vuelca Fácil® joins other acknowledgments the Calvo product has received. Noteworthy among these are the CMVocento Genio Award for the best innovation in product design and the Galician Food Cluster (Clusaga) award in the innovative product category. The Easy Flip packaging was also among the top twenty innovations in the industry in 2021 according to the Institut Cerdà’s Innovation Observatory in the Consumer Goods Sector.
