Alonso joins the company after serving as the marketing director at Bonduelle for more than six years
He replaces Martín Barbaresi, who has been appointed executive director of Grupo Calvo’s America Division
Madrid, February 20, 2023 – Grupo Calvo has announced the appointment of Jorge Alonso as the new marketing director of the company’s Europe Division. He replaces Martín Barbaresi, who has taken on overall management of the America Division after working for twenty years in a range of positions in the company.
Alonso thus joins the company after serving as Bonduelle’s marketing director for nearly seven years. Among his new responsibilities within the group will be being in charge of coordinating the company’s marketing strategy in the Spanish, Italian and Central American markets, contributing to business development and brand strengthening.
His professional trajectory has been mainly linked to the food and beverage sector, having previously worked for other groups in diverse roles, including Innovation Snacking Manager at Campofrio, Marketing and Innovation Manager at Altadis, and Brand Manager for Grupo Bel. He also collaborated with García Carrión, Coca-Cola, and Kraft Foods at the beginning of his career.
Alonso earned his degree in Business Administration, Management and Marketing from Comillas Pontifical University (ICADE), and has taken part in a variety of advanced training programs, including the Executive Development Program (PPD) at IESE Business School, the Marketing and Sales Management Program at ESADE and the Food Business Management Program at San Telmo Business School.
